Organiser une exposition rétrospective ne veut pas nécessairement dire sacraliser le travail d’un artiste, ni comprendre en profondeur son univers artistique. Ça peut aussi simplement signifier un rendez-vous. L’acte de rassembler dans le même espace différentes temporalités.
 
Le rendez-vous à la salle d’exposition avec le duo de cinéastes Distruktur, constitué de Melissa Dullius et Gustavo Jahn, prend une forme simple : une seule projection sur la totalité de la surface d’un mur qui accueille parfaitement le format carré de leurs films. 6 films qui datent depuis 2006 à nos jours seront présentés pendant une semaine sur un rythme qui changera chaque jour. Les 6 films seront unis dans un ensemble plus grand, gagnant ainsi une nouvelle existence.
 
Distruktur produisent leurs films de manière autonome, ils sont à la fois cinéastes, scénaristes, acteurs, monteurs, musiciens… Ils explorent les limites de la fiction comme elle apparaît dans notre vie quotidienne, ce qu’on appelle parfois « la magie ». Ici, le manque des moyens se transforme en éventail de possibilités.
 
Film-performance Fehlerhaft, 25.05.2019 à 20h : 
Lors de la performance, Distruktur et l’écran forment un triangle, dans lequel chaque élément fonctionne de façon autonome tout en interagissant avec les autres. Fehlerhaft signifie imparfait, anormal, non conforme, truqué, choquant, vicieux, corrompu ou défectueux en allemand.
 
Distruktur est un duo artistique basé à Berlin, formé par Melissa Dullius et Gustavo Jahn. Son travail explore la frontière entre l’art et le cinéma, l’expérimental et le narratif, la photographie et l’image en mouvement. Melissa et Gustavo commencent à produire des films en 1999 à Porto Alegre, au Brésil ; d’abord avec une caméra Super 8, puis au 16mm. Lorsqu’ils déménagent à Berlin en 2007, ils co-fondent LaborBerlin, laboratoire de cinéma associatif géré intégralement par des artistes. C’est depuis ce moment-là qu’ils incorporent des pratiques expérimentales dans le processus créatif.

A retrospective exhibition is not exclusively intended to sacralise the work of an artist, nor to understand in depth his or her creative universe. It can quite simply be the occasion for a rendez-vous, the chance to bring together different temporalities in one space.
 
The encounter of filmmakers Gustavo Jahn and Melissa Dullius, also known as Distruktur, takes a simple form: a projection covering the entirety of one wall, perfectly adapted to the square format of their films. Six of their films, produced since 2006, will be screened for one week at a frequency varying from day to day. These six individual films will take a larger, collective form, gaining therefore a new existence and meaning.
 
Distruktur produce their films in an autonomous way. They are filmmakers, scriptwriters, actors and editors. They explore the limits of fiction as it appears in our daily life, what we occasionally come to “magic.” The lack of resources at their disposal becomes a wide range of creative possibilities.”
 
Film-performance Fehlerhaft, 25.05.2019 at 20h : 
In this performance Distruktur forms a triangle between them and the screen, each element functioning independently and also in relation to the others. Each song is performed to a specific filmic piece, specially handmade for the performance.
Fehlerhaft means imperfect, abnormal, non-conforming, erroneously, offending, vicious, corrupted or defective in German.
 
Distruktur is a Berlin based artistic duo formed by Melissa Dullius and Gustavo Jahn. Their work moves across the borders between art and cinema, experimental and narrative, photography and moving image. They started making films in 1999 in Porto Alegre in Brazil, first on Super 8 and later on 16mm. After moving to Berlin in 2007, where they co-founded the artist-run non-profit film lab LaborBerlin, they started incorporating experimental practices in their creative process.
